Crozet Virginia
House
rental overlooking Blue Ridge Mountains
Sept. 20, 2016
This house "area" was used in the movie Evan Almighty, at the ending. Evan is talking to "God" under a tree just 100 feet away from this house. The image then shows them from far away (as the helicopter pans back) and over the hill, then the movie ends. WHY they chose this place, don't know. Beautiful overlook of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This the only house on this overlook. Two other are further down the hill. |
You are 1,300 feet above sea level.
Basically the only thing around, so lighting rods are a necessity.
There
were 4 or 5 on the house !
On the side of the house, about 500
feet away is a antenna array.
Some of the house reviews companied about them.
You're on the top of a mountain... of course there are antennas !
Besides,
how do you think power got installed up this isolated mountain ?
Part of the private road (gated -
though a farm) to get to the house.
This is the tree along
side the house (about 200 feet away) that is used in Evan Almighty movie.
God
and Noah are talking under it, then the camera zooms away then shows the
mountains.
The house is never shown in the film
If you check IMDB,
it shows a filming location at Crozet, VA.
Sunset comes, but the house is a 20 min ride up or
down to the road.
Then another 10 min to town.
So you have to figure out where you are before sunset.
Driving up or down the one land dirt road with no lights or
even moonlight is
pretty scary. Especially with the very tight turns.
Typical Sunset... that's all
Those horrible looking towers !
Better show of the whole house and top
deck !
The white car is a rare 2006 Subaru Tribeca, the car that
was
suppose to blow away other SUVs. Hardly sold, we
bought ours, only a week on
the lot with $1,200 off.
That was a big deduction in 2006.
Never saw
another Tribeca on that dealer's lot.
Good car, never had a problem in 63K
miles.
Sold it for an Hyundai Veracruz (gas eater)
The
field
where the kids are playing in the move.
And one day it was foggy... yes,
that is the house.
In the afternoon.
