I was wondering why the attractions
were not so "busy",
and there were no waits for lunch or dinner.
The shot below was at 1:00 on a Wed.
We went on a tour boat ride of Deep
Creek.. this is the parking deck at 5:45pm
And the reason for the "slow"
business
MANY of these "second" homes are for sale...
My wife was talking to one person at WISP
and they said when the realtor changed the policy to rent for only a few days
were
they able to afford to come for just 2 days.
WISP mountain resorts
About 800K each and gee.. many for sale !
We also ventured to another "vacation
home" site by Spike Construction
The sign dated 2005 with "sites for
sale" had all but 4 or so taken with houses on
the lots. Basically
an empty development. Lot prices of course have dropped or "best offer".
At the top of WISP is a new cafeteria.
Basically the "sales office"
that occupied the entire building is just a room or two and
the rest is this
new cafeteria / bathroom.
A flyer we checked out for a house at the top, 1.3
million
and that's a "vacation" home . . . . . .
it looked as 1/6
of the homes were for sale.
Up WISP mountain. This is the
coaster
that you can ride down. This is the road UP !
You can run the "zip lines"

In order to get up the mountain side
to go down the
zip lines.. escalator, of course

WISP now has a Segway tour.
Yep, these go up the mountain.
New attraction - go carts.
Up the hills they stress, but once up there
you ride all over the place.
The big tires and springs are needed !
WISP now offers "white water
rafting"
2 hours for a reasonable fee
A "monster"
circular water ride. A retention pond, ride up an escalator, then down and
around !
And if you think this is an easy ride, just as we finished
shooting.. a wipe out of a raft.
Everyone got back in and finished that
ride.

across a hillside of 12 wind turbines
Even with very little wind, these babies
were spinning pretty good !
In West Virginia we saw "the
smallest church in 48 states"

Lots of trees... On the right bottom.. the river
and then the falls
On one side of this narrow walkway
to the falls are trees... the other side rocks !
We were told of a great brewery
just a few miles from Deep Creek. Great food and brews
Plus the best place
for sunsets !

It finally cleared up to see the mountains.
We've been seeing two lights in the
hills, between the trees.
This is house 1 with a 500mm

These are the only two houses out here.
We're about 6 miles from Deep Creek.
Otherwise.. this would be $2500
a week
rental if this was less then a mile from the lake.

Even finding the break in the
metal guardrail for the driveway at night is difficult.
But we have a well stocked frig for
any events !
