The camera's external dimensions and weight are a little smaller than the Pentax K1000's and the bayonet lens mount is for the Pentax lens.

This camera has a vertical focal plane shutter which has a B setting for time exposures, as well as 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000 with the flash sync speed of 1/60. There is also an A setting which allows you to select the aperture and the shutter adjusts automatically according to the light level. This model has a self-timer - a feature missing from the Pentax K.

The camera uses 2 V76PX cells which are readily available.
